Freelance translators/forum operators for mobile games - Translation Freelance Job

Osaka-based Active Gaming Media Inc. is looking for several freelance translators/operators for a long term project involving translation of urgent notifications and community monitoring for mobile game applications based on famous anime intellectual properties.

This is a great opportunity for speakers of Japanese interested in anime and video games who are looking for a regular and long term project.

Note: Native speakers of German who do not speak Japanese but can translate from English are also welcome to apply.

Main tasks:
- Translations in real time for three different game applications. Operators will be given in-game notification texts to translate from Japanese (or English in case of German) to their language within 1 to 2 hours when a particular issue arises in one of the games.
- Observation of online communities and forums. Operators will monitor online communities to look for issues arising in the games and report them, if any.

Home based

Starting date:
July 2018 (tentative)

Hourly based, starting from JPY1560/hour, negotiable depending on shift and experience

Working time:
Afternoon shift (12:00 - 20:00 CET summer time) or night shift (19:00 - 03:00 CET summer time), a total of 7 hours + 1 hour break, 2 to 5 days per week depending on the applicant’s preference and available shifts (including weekends and holidays)

Candidate profile:
- Native speaker with excellent writing skills in one or more of the following languages: English, French, German, Korean, or Traditional Chinese
- Good Japanese proficiency - JLPT N2 or equivalent, or in case of German native speakers, English TOEIC 900 or superior
- Interested in anime/manga and video games
- Attentive to detail and able to work with regularity in a team
- Previous experience in translation and/or community management is a plus
